
Rosemary Violette Hamilton Michalski, loving and dedicated mother to Ion Michalski and Margot Michalski and wife to Stefan Michalski, passed away on May 26, 2016. She will be terribly missed by her family. We will particularly miss her courage and quiet strength, as well as her loyalty, energy, compassion, kindness and sense of humor.
Rosemary was born August 7, 1923 in London, England to Ion Wentworth Hamilton and Lavinia Winifred Hamilton (née Burridge). She studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and Ursuline Convent schools before joining the Royal Air Force (RAF) as a driver during World War II.
Rosemary met her future husband, Stefan Dimitri Michalski, on an RAF base in Britain during the war. Stefan was an RAF pilot at the time. Rosemary and Stefan fell in love and they were married in London on April 23, 1947.
Rosemary and Stefan Michalski resided in London until 1952, when they moved to the United States. They lived in Buffalo, NY; Silver Spring, MD; and recently Greenwich, CT. Rosemary volunteered for the Red Cross and, later in life, worked for Media Statistics and Erie Insurance in Silver Spring.
We are grateful that Rosemary was with us until her 92nd year. She will always remain in our hearts and minds.
