Rosina P. Primo, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 21, 2018 at home in Old Greenwich, CT. She was born November 28, 1931 in Pitcairn, PA, the daughter of Giuseppe Pregano and Rosina Colletti. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Albert T. Primo, the legendary creator of the Eyewitness new concept who with her constant support and inspiration revolutionised broadcast journalism. Daughters Juliet Brooks Primo, Valeri Primo Lack and her husband Jeremy, grandchildren Livia and Eden Primo Lack. She was predeceased by her son, Albert Christian Gregg Primo and by sisters Angeline Alfieri, Phyllis Rancatore and baby Mary Ann Pregano.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Pregano, sisters Josephine Lang and Virginia Pregano. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
She graduated from University of Pittsburgh, Presbyterian Hospital and was a Registered Nurse. She was the nurse of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball team. Upon moving to Greenwich, she became a successful real estate agent/ broker first with Putnam Real Estate and then as a Vice President of William Raveis Real Estate for 30 years, earning a graduate degree from St. Joseph’s College in Maine.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich and was a Deacon for many years serving in numerous capacities including part of the team that created The Rummage Room which has generated millions of dollars for charitable organizations across Southwestern Connecticut.
She was a socially active woman who was deeply involved in helping others for the majority of her life, including the President’s Club of the State University of New York (SUNY), and a founding member of the Greenwich Committee for Montefiore Children’s Hospital in New York.
A gravesite funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28 at First Congregational Church, Old Greenwich at 12 Noon.
