

Sylvia Proudfoot, 86, of Greenwich, CT passed away on March 12, 2022. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, she was the daughter of Ines and Mario Cadenasso. Before emigrating to the United States in the mid 1960's, Sylvia worked as an operator with Bell Telephone in Chile helping to support her widowed mother. Once in the U.S., Sylvia became a draftsman at Bell Telephone in Port Chester, NY and later White Plains, NY. Sylvia met Don A. Proudfoot not too long after moving to the United States. They fell in love, married and settled in Greenwich, CT Sylvia is survived by her best friend and sister, Lillian Elliot (David) of Ontario, Canada, her adored brother Santiago (Maria Loretto) Cadenasso of Santiago, Chile, as well as her stepsons, David Proudfoot (Darnney) of Lihue, Hawaii, Richard Proudfoot of Wallingford, CT and Edward Proudfoot of Tequesta,Florida and many much-loved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband and stepson Don A. Proudfoot, Jr. Sylvia loved gardening, traveling, playing golf and enjoyed the company of great friends and family. Sylvia was a ray of sunshine, kind and joyful, spreading warmth and love where ever she went. She was a long-time member of the Social Seniors of St. Catherine's and the Glenville Seniors Club.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, March 25th at 10am at St. Catherine's of Sienna, Riverside, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association in her memory.
