Virginia worked at New York Telephone in Port Chester, NY for 26 years, then at Greenwich Hospital as a switchboard operator until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, the beach, and loved being on the water.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Theresa Maurer; her husband, James W. McGuire; her grandson, Charles A. Meli, Jr., a brother, Rodney Maurer, and a baby girl, Patricia, her first child.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon McGuire, a brother, Bernard Maurer, and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are through Leo P. Gallagher & Son, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Scared Heart Church 95 Henry St., Greenwich on Staurday, April 27, at 12PM, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
