Alice Marie Chappell, 84, of Hackett, Arkansas went to her eternal home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at her home in Hackett. She was born on December 18, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Woodrow and Ruby (Mize) Cosby and grew up in nearby Bixby, Oklahoma. She married Jess Chappell in 1970 and along with his son and her son became a blended family. She accepted Jesus in her early twenties and if you ever met her, you were going to hear about Him. She was a kind, gentle soul and the best Mom and Nana that you could ever hope for.
She is survived by two sons, Perry Chappell of Hackett and Russell Carter and wife, Debra of Roland Oklahoma; a daughter, Heather Snyman of Hackett; grandchildren, Kelby Carter of Hackett and Matthew Snyman of Fort Smith; great grandchildren, Vayda Marie Snyman and Havyn Monroe Snyman; two sisters, Martha Dorsey of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Linda Conrad of Bixby, Oklahoma. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jess Chappell.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 11 at Calvary Chapel Assembly in Hackett with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing and visitation with the family will be 3 - 5 p.m on Sunday at funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Chappell, Seth Crone, Matthew Snyman, Briar Goines, Cory Allison and Jermony "OZ" Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Ray and Damon Null.
