Alton Ray McCartney, 87, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a retired postal clerk for the United States Post Office, member of Washburn United Methodist Church, served on the Greenwood School Board, member of Greenwood Lions Club, member of Greenwood VFW post # 6527 and Korean Army veteran.
Funeral will be 10 am Thursday, November 17 at Washburn United Methodist Church with interment at Washburn Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1-8 pm at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5-7 pm.
He is survived by his wife, Mary McCartney; two sons, David McCartney of Portland, Oregon and James McCartney of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two daughters, Martha Hartwick of Garfield, Arkansas and Ruth LaSalle of Washburn; four grandchildren and one great grandchild
