Archie Michael Eksteen, 54, of Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 in his home surrounded by family. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was born May 25, 1972, in Fochville, South Africa. He was a mining engineer who had worked in South Africa, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Archie was also the owner of Koedoesrand game ranch in South Africa. He was a current member of Central Christian Church in Fort Smith. He will be remembered for his love for God and family, his strength and leadership, and his adventurous spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Santie Eksteen; one son, Machiel Eksteen; two daughters, Veronica Wilson and husband, Christopher, and Amé Eksteen; his parents, Mike and Marilyn Eksteen; one sister, Cheron Eksteen, and a granddaughter, Selah, on the way.
Graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 28 at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
