

Benjamin Neil Davis, 74 of Hartford, AR passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his home. Neil was born April 1, 1940 to US Army Capt. James and Vera Davis in Oklahoma City, OK. Neil was raised in Dewey and Bartlesville, Oklahoma and was a starting fullback at College High School. He was also a star pitcher in high school and received a scholarship to play baseball the University of Tulsa, where he attended for several years. Later, he graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
Neil had three children, one with his first wife, Jeanie Davis, and two with his wife, Sue Parris Davis. He was a hardworking man, with a great love for his family. Neil owned several small businesses before building his own company, American Detail Supplies. In 1978, Neil and Sue moved their family from Livermore, California to the Heavener, Oklahoma area, and later retired in Hartford.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Colonel Jim and Vera Davis, his son, Benjamin Neil Davis, Jr. and his wife, Sue Parris Davis and his third wife Helen Davis.
Survivors include his children, Becky Davis Steubing of Webb City, MO and Bradley N. Davis of Hartford, AR; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Catie, Spencer, and Macy; three brothers, David Davis, of St. Louis, MO, Martin Davis and Douglas Davis both of Corpus Christi, TX; his girlfriend Carol and many nieces and nephews.
Neil was known for his many zany escapades and practical jokes, such as the time he and his younger brother David climbed up on a roof in downtown Dewey and threw lighted firecrackers at the people below. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 28 at the Mansfield United Methodist Church, 111 Division Ave, Mansfield, AR. Rev. John Noggles presiding.
