Billy Claude Glass of Greenwood, Arkansas entered into Heaven Saturday, June 25, 2016, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born December 25, 1930 in Boothe, Arkansas to Claude and Dessie (Slankard) Glass. Bill lived life to the fullest, had a presence that was undeniable and never met a stranger. He was a cattleman, rancher, an avid team roper and loved to hunt. He loved the Lord, loved his family, loved this country and loved Meno’s Bible Class. He was as tough as they come, but had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help a friend. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Norma Glass; a sister, Bobbie Lois Lacy of Abbott, Arkansas; a son, Keith Glass and wife, Dorie of Greenwood, Arkansas; a daughter, Janis Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Daryl Glass and wife, Lisa of Gansevoort, New York, B.A. Glass and wife, Stephanie of Rogers, Arkansas and Luke Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Micah Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma and five great-grandchildren, Ellie-Grace, Chloe and Benjamin Glass and Eliza Ann and Billy Wheeler Glass.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Greenwood with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Boothe under direction of McConnell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 – 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Greenwood, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Glass, B.A. Glass, Luke Taylor, Richard Dunn, Bucky Cox and Bill Strozier.
Honorary pallbearers include the members of Meno’s Bible Class, Jerry Wilson, Joe David King, Pete Cox, Tim Tibbits, Doc Burgess, Dale Meeks, Neil Treece, Willie Don Solesbee and Wayland Parker II.
