Charles Cleveland Carter, 89, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born October 9, 1935 in Greenwood, Arkansas to Chester Cleveland and Blanche Evelyn (Been) Carter. He was retired from Dixie Cup and a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Steve Carter; three brothers, J.H. Carter, Gary Carter and Randy Carter; four grandchildren, Joey Carter, Brittany Bishop, Stephanie Aviles and Chelsea Smith and nine great grandchildren, Nixie Wallace, Brett Carter, Kryslynn Carter, Millie Wallace, Scarlet Elliott, Aislan Smith, Maddox Forehand, Daxton Forehand and Xatthias Aviles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Carter, a brother, Troy Carter, children, Linda Carter and Benny Carter and a granddaughter, Tiffany Carter.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, April 4 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 1 p.m. the day of the service.
Pallbearers will be Joey Carter, Brett Carter, Demondra Bishop, Brittany Bishop, Stephanie Aviles and Jackie Dolan.
