Charles Stanley “Stan” Sharp passed from this life into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Stan was born to Charles and JoAnn Sharp on May 23, 1964 in Frankfurt, Germany while his father was serving in the U.S. Army. Stan graduated from De Queen High School where he met his love, Angie. He graduated from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He and Angie Lewis were married on June 6, 1986 at First Baptist Church in De Queen, where he later served as a deacon.
Stan coached high school sports at McCrory, Arkansas before returning to De Queen, where he began a new career as a supervisor at Pilgrim’s Pride Poultry Company. He mentored many young employees who have since advanced in their careers. After relocating to Greenwood, Arkansas, he continued his career serving Tyson Foods and OK Foods.
Stan loved worshipping his Savior, spending time with his family- especially his kids, golf, and the Razorbacks. He enjoyed mentoring young people, debating issues, and serving his church faithfully.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Jo Ann Sharp. He is survived by his wife, Angie Lewis Sharp; his children, Taylor Sharp, Carson Sharp and wife, Peyton and Charley Kay Sharp; his granddaughter, Emmerson Lane Sharp and his two sisters, Gail Sharp and Kimela Martin and husband, Mike. He is also survived by his wife’s parents, David and Mary Sue Lewis; her sister, Debbie Reed and husband, Paul; her brother, Mark Lewis and wife, Alisha; a host of nephews and nieces and many, many longtime friends.
Stan’s service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 6 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with interment at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at Greenwood First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Ronald McDonald House.
