Danny Lee Newman, 68, of Central City, Arkansas passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born January 1, 1957 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to James Edward and Nancy Ellen (Sweeten) Newman. He retired after 40 years from TJ Smith Box Company. After retirement he bought, repaired and resold lawnmowers. Danny loved people and loved making them happy. He would often stop on the side of the road to give someone a ride.
He is survived by one daughter, Trista Watts; three sisters, Marilyn Long, Diane Newman and Suzie Smith; four grandchildren, Alexis Savage, Isaac Broadway, Landen Broadway and Caitlyn Broadway and two great grandchildren, Bentley Savage and Brynleigh Savage and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James Newman, Charles Newman, Richard Newman and Joe Newman.
A graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 13 at White Bluff Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
