Danny Charles Ray, 86, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026 in his home. He was born November 6, 1939 in Barling, Arkansas to Robert Franklin and Louise (Alverson) Ray. He was retired from N&D Technical, a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of the Greenwood First Baptist Church.
Danny loved his family, had a strong faith in God, and enjoyed spending his time fishing. He was happiest around the people he loved and never lost his love for being outdoors and on the water. He will be missed by his family and all who know him.
Danny is survived by his wife, Barbara Ray; two sons, Larry Ray and Kent Blankenship; two daughters, Linda Jones and husband, Junior and Pamela Miesner; two sisters, Evelyn Gales and Sherry Cates; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Kay Ray; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Ray; three brothers, Rodney, David and Bobby Ray; two sisters, Sharon Stephens and Janet Jo Stevens and one great grandson, Christopher Guardado, Jr.
Funeral service with military honors will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 19 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the church, prior to the service.
