Danny Aubrey Woody was born on February 11, 1946 to Ernest and Jewell Woody in Bonanza AR. He was the youngest of four children. Danny was a life-long member of Bonanza Church of Christ. Danny was a Godly, honest, proud man who loved his family, church, community and the land. He believed in the virtues of hard work and striving to continually improve the surroundings around him. Finding pleasure in the simplest of things, he loved a good joke, the beauty of a rock, the sound of falling water, finding the story behind something of old and sitting around a campfire roasting a hotdog. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather.
Danny graduated from Arkansas Tech in 1968 with a degree in accounting. He was valedictorian of his senior class at Hackett High School where it is noted that he never missed a day of school. Danny loved his former Hackett classmates and always kept in touch with them throughout the years. He was a big supporter of Hackett sports and his beloved Hornets. Serving on the Hackett school board and former mayor of Bonanza were great honors for him.
Danny spent the last several years taking care of his farm after he retired from a long career as a driver with UPS. He loved working outdoors and working his cattle with his faithful dog Cassie, who was always by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, and his children, Kimberly Griffith and husband Dean of Greenwood, Karen Hobbs and husband Scott of Jenny Lind, and Kyle Woody of Jenny Lind. Also survived are step children, Chris Sherrod of Oklahoma City, OK and Cindy Riddle of Fort Smith. He was Papa Woody to his grandchildren, Seth Jones of Phoenix, AZ, Coti Brown of Greenwood, Devin Jones of Hot Springs, Shelby Reed of Greenwood, Tyler Reed of Fort Smith, Savana Blume of Greenwood, and Trevor and Alex Woody of Greenwood. Danny was also Papa Woody to four great- grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, and five step great- grandchildren.
