Debra Ann (Kazmirski) Flannigan, 66, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, Monday, July 13, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 22, 1959 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Robert Kazmirski and Peggy (Rogers) Kazmirski. Debbie leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and care. Her life was defined by her great devotion to her family and the care she gave to others. She was a nurse, a loving wife, a mother, a “Mimi” to her grands and a loyal friend to many. Debbie held her family as her greatest treasure in this life.
Debbie will always be remembered as a devoted mother and Mimi whose love for her family knew no bounds. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, and nothing brought her more joy than cheering them on at their sporting events. Her presence on the sidelines, with her warm smile and encouraging words, will be deeply missed. Her unwavering support, kindness, and the countless memories she created with her family will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her most.
Debbie made a huge impact on others through her 40 years in nursing. She is remembered as compassionate and dedicated by so many especially in her 20+ years as a school nurse for Greenwood schools, whose care touched the lives of countless students and staff. She greeted every child with a warm smile and provided comfort and reassurance in both small scrapes and times of worry. Her unwavering commitment to the well-being of her school community, her kindness, and her gentle encouragement left a lasting impact. The countless moments she spent nurturing, guiding, and supporting her students will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Chris Flannigan; three children, Jasen Jerrell and wife, Rhian of Rogers, AR, Tiffany Sharum and husband, Neal of Houston, TX, and Kyle Flannigan and wife, Kristen of Tehachapi, CA; eight grandchildren, Addie Sharum, Oliza Johnson Jones-White, Jax Sharum, Oli Johnson, Mackenzie Jerrell, Kaz Jerrell, Ira Flannigan and Emily Flannigan; one great grandchild, Josie Jones-White; her sister, Tami Kazmirski Graham; nephew, Blake Klomfas and great nephew, Easton Klomfas.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 21 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Drain officiating with burial at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Viewing and visitation with the family will be Monday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jasen Jerrell, Kyle Flannigan, Neal Sharum, Jax Sharum, Easton Klomfas, Kaz Jerrell, Bobby Hopkins and Robert R. Hardy.
