Dorothy Cochran, 100, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2018. Dorothy was born January 19, 1918 to Hubert and Delia Elmore of Milltown Community, where she lived and raised her family. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by children; Charlotte Barnard and husband, Jim of Greenwood, Arkansas and Karen Battenfield of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Steve Barnard and wife, Stephanie of Greenwood, Arkansas, Susan Maki and husband, Joe of Gwinn, Michigan, Stacy Gibbs and husband, Walter of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kyle Battenfield of Pompano Beach, Florida; great-grandchildren, James Barnard of Greenwood, Arkansas, Jacob Maki and wife, Taylor, Benjamin Maki of Gwinn, Michigan, Lauren, Tyler and Sydney Gibbs of Tulsa, Oklahoma and great great-grandchild, Maverick Maki of Gwinn, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Era Mae Black of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Gail Willsey of Greenwood, Arkansas and Pat Wynn of McLoud, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy Cochran is preceded in death by husband, Charley Cochran, son, Roger Cochran, grandson Ken Barnard and siblings, Alta Martin, Roy Elmore, Lola Gilliam, Vergial Willsey, Offa Elmore, Tavie Ward, Leonard Elmore, Eunice Bull, A.D. Elmore, and Warren Elmore.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, March 29, at Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial at Dawson Cemetery in Milltown under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Rev. Louise Finney will be officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jim Barnard, Steve Barnard, James Barnard, Kyle Battenfield, Walter Gibbs and Tyler Gibbs.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dawson Cemetery, 6929 E. Hwy. 252, Greenwood, AR 72936.
