Douglas is survived by his son, Brandon Thomas of Fort Smith, Arkansas and grandchildren, Addilyn, Rowan and Lennon; his daughter, Amber Gutierrez and her spouse, Emmanuel Gutierrez of Greenwood, Arkansas and grandchildren, Emmy and Amya; his sister, Kathy Flanders and her spouse, Bill Flanders of Greenville, Michigan and nephews, Josh and Matt; his brother, Rick Holcomb and his spouse, Ruth Holcomb of Greenville, Michigan and his brother, Don Holcomb of Battle Creek, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jeff and James Holcomb and his parents, Beverly Jean Holcomb (Sharp) and Leverette Leroy Holcomb.
Douglas retired from Denso Corporation in Battle Creek, Michigan. Following his retirement, he continued his career as a Skilled Tradesman at the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith.
Douglas had a passion for riding ATVs, playing the drums, restoring his 1972 Nova, camping, fishing, and watching movies in his home theater. Above all, he cherished his time with his family. He moved to Arkansas after his retirement to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Douglas will be remembered for his loyalty to his long-time friends, the kindness he extended to all who knew him, and overall, the love he had for his family.
Douglas will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 3 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood.
