

Erma Kennedy Reed, 94 of Greenwood, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and member of Greenwood First Baptist Church. She started playing piano and organ for funerals at the age of eleven, and played for church services, the men’s quartet, school functions and funerals for over seventy years. She enjoyed quilting, canning and gardening, and shared these talents with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, John W. Studdard and Samuel R. Kennedy, and two great-grandsons, Braedyn Rhodes and Daxtan Byrd
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Reed; two daughters, Danna Hallmark of Sulphur, Oklahoma and Jeanette Hale of Russellville, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Robin Richey of Fort Smith; two sons, John Studdard of Atkins and Bill Kennedy of Portland, Oregon; one step-son, Wesley Reed of Whitesboro, Texas; ten grandchildren, Melanie Rhodes, Russell Hale, Stephanie Watson, Jeremy Richey, April Byrd, Denise Otwell, Randy Reed, Caleb Reed, Katelyn Reed, and Kristen Reed, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, with burial at Gilliam Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Russell Hale, Andrew Watson, James Collins, Jeremy Richey, Wesley Byrd, and Don Otwell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Caleb Reed and Randy Reed
