

Forrest T. “Scott” Griffith, 70, of Rye Hill, passed away October 4, 2012 in Fort Smith. Mr. Griffith was born May 22, 1942, in Fort Smith, AR. He graduated from Greenwood High School. He was the owner and operator of Forrest Construction and member of Greenwood Methodist Church. He loved cowboy poetry and regularly attended the Chuck Wagon Races. He got great joy out of taking something old and making it new and beautiful again. He was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Lucile Griffith; brothers Bob D. Griffith and Neil Griffith; and step-son Al “Rex” Kremer.
He is survived by his wife, Ruthie Griffith of the home, to whom he was married January 21, 1995; his daughter Lisa Burklow of Greenwood; his daughter Georgette Beshears and husband Jeff of Maumelle; his son Scott “Bud” Griffith and wife Sarah of Fort Smith; his daughter Amanda Griffith of Greenwood; his children’s mother Ann Griffith of Greenwood; his step-daughter Lynne Coan and husband Chris of Pea Ridge; his step-son Roger Kremer and wife Melissa of Subiaco; his step-son Jake Kremer and wife Becky of Dublin; step-daughter-in-law Tracy Kremer of Pea Ridge; his sister Margaret and husband Jim Grady of Rye Hill; sister-in-law Mary Griffith of Rye Hill; six nieces and one nephew; and twenty-one grandchildren; one great grandchild and a countless number of friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 8 at Rye Hill Baptist Church, with Reverend Paul Walker and Craig Russell officiating. Burial will follow at McKendree Cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 to 8 pm at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 4-6 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Tim Beshears, Jon Beshears, Landon Burklow, Dakota Coan, Tyler Kremer and James Grady.
