Freddie Hook, 90, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 in Greenwood. She was born October 25, 1933 in Hartford, Arkansas to Omer Jackson and Cordelia Mae Slate. She was a homemaker, member of the Greenwood First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons, Loyd Reed Hook, III and wife, Karen of Broken Arrow and Bill Hook and wife, Becky of Fort Smith; daughters, Carolynn Hook of Mountain Home and Lois Madden and husband, Mully of Roland; two brothers, Donald Slate of Booneville and Harold Slate of Roland; one sister, Marilyn Davis of Edmond, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Reed Hook, Jr.; one son, Lawrence Hook; four brothers, Leonard Slate, Milburn Slate, Byrem Slate and Wayne Slate and three sisters, Edna Goering, Melba Tankersley and Lela Slate.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 13 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood followed by a private family inurnment at Liberty Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
