Gary D. Blackshare, 84, of Hackett, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026 in Fort Smith. He was born August 26, 1942 in McDougal, Arkansas to Ira Doyn and Sybil (Etheridge) Blackshare. Gary was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, a 32° Degree Mason, member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #131 F&AM and former secretary and member of Reid Lodge #163 F&AM in Mansfield.
Gary is survived by his wife, Shirley Blackshare; two sons, Derek Blackshare and Teil Blackshare; three stepdaughters, Kerri Rasmussen, Lorri McKinney and Erin Johnston; one brother, Jerry Blackshare; one sister, Artie Hamilton and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Susie Droll.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
