Gary was married to Monica (Brannan) Lowe, the love of his life, for 47 years. They built their life from a foundation of love, devotion, laughter, and family. Gary was recognized by his hard work and devotion to his community, as well as the impact he has on his family.
In 1982, he moved his wife of 2 years from Fort Smith, Arkansas to Greenwood, Arkansas, where they remained on their farm. There they would start their lives beginning at Greenwood First Baptist. Here he would begin his Godly duty as "the Bouncer". Serving 18 years as a Sunday school teacher for 5th grade boys and 9 years for Pre-School boys. Likewise, they shared their faith with their children by introducing them into a life of service and commitment.
Gary retired from AOG in 2018. After 45 years of hard work and devotion he had made lifelong friends and the career he had worked so hard to build would allow him to grow and care for his family. After a short time in retirement, he started working for the Greenwood School District, driving a school bus. There he made even more friends, thus creating the "Old Man Club" as labeled by Monica. He enjoyed his retirement to its fullest, spending time on the Lowe Farm with his wife and all of their buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Monica of 47 years; his mother, Marjorie; two siblings, Greg Lowe (the late Nora) and Ronnie Lowe (Angie); three children, Nicole Campbell (Jayson), Grant Lowe (Rachel) and Lawson Lowe (Shannon); ten grandchildren, Blake (Sarah), Bryce (Kaci), Brittney (Kody), Drew, Kale, Elisha, Jeremiah, Uriah, Mabel, and Micah and thirteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Gene Lowe and his sister-in-law, Nora Lowe.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 27 at Greenwood First Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, May 26 from 5 – 7 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood.
