George Lee Benge
July 10, 1955 – November 6, 2012
George Lee Benge, 57, of Hartford, Arkansas passed way Tuesday, November 6, 2012 peacefully at his home. George was born in Hartford to Irene and Amos Benge and was retired from Gerber Products in Fort Smith. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 10, 2012 in the McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with interment at West Harmony Cemetery near Hartford under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Lisa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Doris Mendenhall and Clyde and Violet Mendenhall; a sister, LaFaye Hatley; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dave Harbottle; beloved grandson, Dylon Harbottle; a son, Jackie Shepherd; and many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and a “brother” Larry. Viewing will be from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 9th at the funeral home in Greenwood where the family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.

the last time I saw George was when I was working at Gerber as a nurse there but you just never know when we are going to go , but I always liked George he was one of the most cool guys in Hartford!!!!!!!!!!!I had to work and was unable to go visit him for the last time at the funeral home !! He always had great hair!!!!!!!!

I have many fun and good memories working with George at Joe Safreed Const & Cook Const and then visiting with him at Gerber when ever I was doing construction work at the plant. I will miss him.
