Wayne Scifres, 79, of Lavaca, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in Fort Smith. He was born October 29, 1945 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to James Harold and Doris (Rogers) Scifres. He was retired from International Paper Company and member of Rye Hill Baptist Church.
Wayne loved the Lord and was ready to go to his Heavenly home.
He is survived by his wife of 60 ½ years, Sue Scifres; two sons, Hal Scifres and wife, Gaylene and Lane Scifres and wife, Dawn; two grandsons, Hunter Scifres and wife, Jenna and Tyler Scifres and wife, Leona and two granddaughters, Kailey and husband, Jude and Reagan Scifres. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Junita Lunsford.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 19 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood. Viewing will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday before the service.
