

Gene was born on December 20,1935, in Braxton, Mississippi and spent his adult life working as a proud and most valued employee in construction and specifically the glass industry. An avid outdoorsman, he could often be found in the woods or on the water enjoying life. At Bonanza Church of Christ he could on occasion be heard leading songs or speaking a most positive message concerning his love for Jesus and Christ's love for all of us. Above all, Gene was known for the undying devotion he showed to those he loved.
Gene is survived by his sister, Molly Anne Dement of Colfax, Louisiana, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Veda Kimbrell, parents, Henry Sr. and Rosella Kimbrell, sisters, Genevie and Merrill and brother, Lewis.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 3 at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a favorite church or charity.
