Huey P. Smith, 88, of Hackett, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a retired carpenter, U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and of the Assembly of God faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 29 at New Providence Cemetery in Slaytonville under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
He is survived by one son, Tracy Smith and wife, Penny of Hackett; two grandchildren, Eli Smith of Fort Smith and Maddy Dunn of Hackett and one great grandchild, Talon Morris of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Eli Smith, Kenny Smith, Matthew Smith, Pony Amonsin, Ethan Brown, Clint Vaughn and Darion Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Black, Frankie Smith, Don Pack, Bud Jones, Raymond Vaughn, Bill Vaughn, Jim Smith and Marty Smith.
