James Edward Shelton, 69, of Bonanza, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in a Fort Smith hospital. He worked in the oilfield for many years, and later worked as a small engine and auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by his First wife, Edna Shelton.
He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Shirley of the home; five step-children, Judy Cooley of Wilburton, OK,, Delinda Lance of Gowen, OK, Wayne Brinkley of Wilburton, OK, Darrell Brinkley of Wilburton, OK, and Keith Brinkley of Pennsylvania; brothers, Benny Shelton of El Dorado, AR, Raymond Shelton of Tulsa, OK, and Larry Shelton of Fort Smith; sisters, Doris Rist of Tulsa, OK, and Marie Bliss of Wagner, OK, fourteen step-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 8 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
