James Dustin Tapp, 46, of Fort Smith, Arkansas was born on May 3, 1976. God called him home on July 10, 2022. James “Dustin” was a veteran of the United States Navy and a Corpsman of the United States Marines, receiving many medals and ribbons during his military career. He had a bigger than life personality with the best hugs and was a warrior on and off the battlefield, always going above and beyond in everything he did. He lived for his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will forever be loved and never forgotten.
He is survived by his wife, Brittany; his mother, Marsha Tapp of Fort Smith; two daughters, Lillyan Tapp of Tulsa and Laynee Tapp of Bentonville; one son, Lucas Tapp of Bentonville; one step-daughter, Natalie of Mansfield; his sister, Shannon Tapp of Fort Smith; two nieces, Lexi Powell of Fayetteville and Livia Powell of Alma and his nephew, Landon Powell of Alma.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Stella of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Kim Howard and her husband, Nick of Hackett; sister-in-law, Kristen of Fort Smith; three nieces and three nephews, Kelcey, Cadence, Mackenzie, Kolton, Kaber, and Braxton and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, James Aulbert Tapp of Rudy, Aulbert and RoyLee of Dora and James and Lois Wagoner of Mena.
A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 21 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
