

James Frederick Thomas, 79, of Witcherville, Arkansas passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 surrounded by his family in a local hospital. He was born August 9, 1937 to Paul Thomas and Jewel Carpenter Thomas in the community of Abbott. He was retired from Whirlpool as a Tool and Die maker. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mansfield and Fellowship Baptist Church in Witcherville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Thomas, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter, Terri Miner of Bella Vista; one son, Lance Thomas of Witcherville; one sister, Paulina Pierce of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Richard Thomas of Mansfield and Murle Thomas of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Levi Thomas (Pam) of Fort Smith, Samantha Allison (Justin) of San Antonio, Allison Miner of Bella Vista and Thomas Miner of Bella Vista; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 28 at Witcherville Fellowship Baptist Church with interment at Dayton Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Monday from 2 – 7 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Barton, James Owens, Levi Thomas, Charlie Yarbrough, Billy Thomas and Clyde Traylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Bob Stinebaugh, Lendall Williams and Charlie Bishop.
