James Gordon Waldorf, Jr, 94, of Canandaigua, New York passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in Greenwood, Arkansas surrounded by family. He was a switchman for Rochester Telephone Company; life-long scouter for the Boy Scouts earning many lifetime achievement awards; veteran of the US Coast Guard during WWII and US Marine; longtime member of the American Legion and of the Christian faith.
A memorial service will be held later this summer in Canandaigua, New York with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua, New York under the direction of Johnson Kennedy Funeral Home. Please contact family for details.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Reddout in Greenwood; daughter in law, Deborah Bibby Waldorf of Arizona; Cousin, Edward Waldorf of Marathon, Florida; four grandchildren, Jonathan Reddout and wife, Jennifer, Jennifer Speakman and husband, William, Roanna Waldorf and Robert R. Waldorf and wife, Nye; six great grandchildren, Madison, Alexandria, Cooper, Brooklyn, Luke and Jake and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne (Boyle) Waldorf; son, J. Robert Waldorf; parents, James G. and Lucille (Loney) Waldorf, Sr and sister, Doris (Waldorf) Roberts.
Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, Arkansas.
