Jim Hicks

Jim Hicks, 85, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a self-employed paint contractor and member and deacon of Van Buren First Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, February 28 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday from 12 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hicks; one son, Greg Hicks and wife, Vonda of Van Buren; one daughter, Sherri Kolp and husband, Jim of Van Buren; one sister, Mariene White of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Ashley Gauchat and husband, Eric, Lindsay Seubold and husband, Josh and Emily Hicks all of Van Buren and two great grandchildren, Brody Gauchat and Blakely Gauchat of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Josh Seubold, Eric Gauchat, Travis Robertson, Doug Hicks, Olen Hicks and Dennis White. Honorary pallbearers will be Adult 6 Men’s Sunday School Class at Van Buren First Baptist Church, Willie Wikman, Jerry Poole, Charles Kolp and Brody Gauchat.
