Jim Bill Housh was born November 28, 1951, in Miami, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at his home in Greenwood, Arkansas. Jim met his wife Phyllis in 1997 when a mutual friend introduced them. They were married on July 3, 1998, in Oklahoma City, OK and enjoyed nearly 24 wonderful years of marriage together. They were blessed with two beautiful children, and he was “Papa” to five delightful grandchildren. Jim enjoyed a successful career in real estate as well as a successful land developer, designing beautiful housing editions and golf courses. He is a faithful member of Cavanaugh Church in Fort Smith, AR where he graciously volunteered his time assisting with various needs. Jim was known by his friends, family, and acquaintances for his kindness and generosity, and he was a man of unwavering faith to his Lord and Savior. Jim enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, golfing, and snow skiing.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, Lee Housh and mother, Madge (Matlock) Housh of Miami, OK. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Housh of Greenwood, AR; his daughter, Tara Housh DeArmond (Jantzen) of Greenwood, AR; his son Jordan Remagen (Joy) of Branson, MO as well as his five grandchildren, Weston Cumbie of Conway, AR, Kylie Cumbie of Fort Smith, AR, Landen Wolford of Greenwood, AR and Beckett and Annabelle Remagen of Branson, MO. He is also survived by a sister, Sharon Wilson, two nieces, Megan and Lauren, and a nephew, Derrick.
A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 30 at Cavanaugh Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing and visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jantzen DeArmond, Jordan Remagen, Weston Cumbie, Landen Wolford, Lionel Burnett, and Ken Franklin.
