Jim Newquest, 91, of Midland, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born September 3, 1930 to the late Claude and Letha Newquest. He was retired from Rheem, a member of the Local #802 Laborers Union and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He enjoyed woodworking, being outside and ice cream. He showed his compassionate nature when it came to his love for animals. He will be missed by his family, his friends and the stray cats and dogs around the neighborhood that he loved to feed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmie “Hank” Newquest Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Faye Dean Newquest, his daughter, Krissy Posey and his granddaughter, Winter Posey all of Midland, Arkansas.
A graveside service to honor Jim’s life will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 9 at Mount Olive Cemetery in Midland under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
