Jo Ann Hoopengarner, 91, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 in Fort Smith. She was born September 30, 1934 in Hartford, Arkansas to George Washington and Virgie (Clem) Brassfield. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Hoopengarner and wife, Joanne of Greenwood; one sister, Paige of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Jason, John, Shannon, Jason, Christina and Gretchen, twenty great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Hoopengarner.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 10 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Hartford Memorial Park. Viewing and visitation with the family will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
