Joan “Jelena” Cararas, 76, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in her home. She was a retired secretary.

She is survived by three daughters, Dori Scharbor of Greenwood, Machelle Schluterman of Fort Smith and Bonni Sollars of Eugene, Oregon; five brothers, Joey Bongiovanni, Tony Roth, Victor Frost, John Bongiovanni and Michael Gabriel; seven sisters, Mary Violette, Verr-Tess Frost, Teresa Berkowski, Josephine O’Prey, Gloria Reich, Barbara Bongiovanni and Rose Cupo; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Humane Society, 3800 Kelley Hwy., Fort Smith, AR 72904.
