John J. “Jack” Nichols, Jr., 87, of Waldron, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in his home. He was born September 29, 1938 in Tarrytown, New York to John J. Nichols, Sr. and Mary Cecilia (Yurkovic) Nichols. Jack was a retired appliance repair technician, business owner and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Jack proudly served his country for 14 years.
He is survived by one son, Mark Nichols of Livermore, CA; two daughters, Kimberlee Gonzalez of Salinas, CA and Karla Dunn of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Mary Ann Nichols of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren, Cody Nichols, Travis Nichols, Cody Dunn, Megan Gonzalez, Allison Gonzalez and Anthony Gonzalez and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Irene Nichols and a sister, Cecilia Nichols.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood, AR. The family will have a private memorial service. Inurnment will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
