Josephine Catherine Hartman, 91, of Hartford, Arkansas passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026 in Barling. She was born December 27, 1934 in Rio, Wisconsin to Gerbin and Catherine (Wallendahl) Patroelj. She was retired from the Fort Smith School District and a member of Greenwood First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one step-daughter, Dixie Castro, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her husband, Henry P. “Hal” Hartman; two sons, Eddie and Danny Garrett; two brothers, August and Jerry Patroelj; one sister, Jane Schultz and Harry Maas.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 30 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the church.
