Our beloved Kelly Arrington Hendrix is healed and whole. He was born October 10, 1960 in Greenwood, Arkansas to Barbara Hendrix and the late Jerry Hendrix. He went to Heaven on Sunday, March 22, 2026, he was 65 years old.
Kelly loved the USA and his hometown of Greenwood, where he made sure that there were flags placed on almost every corner of the town. He bought the flags with his own money and made sure they were replaced when they became tattered.
Greenwood could not have had a wonderful 4th of July or Christmas parade without Kelly’s helping hand. He also loved helping at the rodeos in Fort Smith and Greenwood.
In 2002, Kelly was honored as Citizen of the Year by Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. He was also honored by Walmart for his patriotism.
Kelly worked as a DJ at KTCS and worked for a night watchman service in his later years. He was a member of the Greenwood First Baptist Church, Greenwood Roundup Club, Greenwood Fair Association and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
He loved county music singer George Strait and got to meet him.
Kelly is survived by his mother, Barbara Hendrix and his cousins, Ricky Hendrix, Brenda Hendrix Sweeney, Donna Hendrix Newbold, Cindy Hendrix Atchison, Danny Hendrix and Robin Hendrix VonHemel.
A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 27 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Stroud Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday before the service.
See you in Heaven Kelly, rest easy in the arms of Jesus.
