Kenneth Wayne Efurd, 75, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on September 14, 2026. Born on November 18, 1950, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Ken was the son of the late Ted and Verna (Brown) Efurd. He was raised in Greenwood, Arkansas, and Sunray, Texas, where he developed a strong work ethic and quiet determination that would define his life.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a field wireman. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career with PepsiCo, serving in a variety of roles over the years. He later pursued a career in real estate and worked as a realtor until his retirement in 2023. A longtime member of the Rotary Club, Ken valued service above self and enjoyed giving back to his community through fellowship and volunteerism.
Ken will be remembered most for his devotion to family, his sense of humor, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mitzi (Leonard) Efurd; his daughter, Hillary and husband, Sitman Moses of Port Allen, Louisiana; and his son, Harrison Efurd of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the proud grandfather of Madden and Bowen Moses of Port Allen, Louisiana. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Megan and husband, Josh Sullivan of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Holly and husband, Cole Trotter of Greenwood, Arkansas. Known affectionately as “Doodah,” Ken treasured his role as grandfather to Sloane Sullivan and Jack and Hank Trotter. Additional survivors include his brother, Jerry Efurd and wife, Susan of Goshen, Arkansas, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, September 18 at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. A private burial will be held at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
