Leon Owens

Leon Owens, 67, of Hackett, died Friday, April 27, 2012, in Ft. Smith. He was born April 28, 1944, in Plainview to Elza and Iva (Lambert) Owens. He was a previous Job Superintendent for Fraser Construction Company and others.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Louise; one son, Perry Chappell (Margie), of Hackett, two daughters, Tanya Newton (Shawn) of Clarksville and Teresa Norwood (Jimmy) of Rover. Special Grandson: Jamie Chappell (Sabrina). 3 Granddaughters: Brandie Hodge, (Joe), KenLyn Norwood and Courtney Damon and 9 great grandchildren. His mother, Iva Owens of Plainview. 3 sisters: Annie Snow (Tommy) of Dover, Jennie Bee Littleton (Gene) Dardanelle, and Geneva Dishongh (Joe) of Plainview. Two brothers: Rick Owens of Plainview and Danny Owens (Lisa) of Plainview. Special dog, Hildy. Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Elza Owens and one sister, El Jean Smith.

Graveside service is at 2:00 P. M., Monday, April 30, 2012 at New Bethel Cemetery near Plainview, Arkansas.
