Mac Franklin Jones was called home by his Lord and Savior, after decades of fighting a valiant fight that took his life, coronary artery disease. Mac was born October 1, 1946 to Paul and Elwanda Jones in Fort Smith. He was a railroader, working for the Frisco and Burlington Northern Railroads, as a trainman. He fiercely loved his country, family and friends and served in the Navy, volunteering to go to Vietnam. He was an avid outdoorsman from an early age, enjoying nature his entire life.
Mac was preceded in death by his father, mother and baby sister, Nancy Rae. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy; daughters, Lori Pipkins (Andy) and Dorie Littlefield (Jeff); granddaughter, Macae Pipkins (fiancé, Anthony Jones); grandsons, Parker Littlefield and Jones Paul Littlefield; sisters, Paula Hutchins (Jay) and Susan McCorkle (Bill); niece, Tammy Frye (Archie); nephews, Gregg Hutchins and Tim McCorkle (Amber) and cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses at Mercy Hospice and his other caregivers when he needed it the most.
With Mac, a handshake was never needed, his Word was his Bond.
The family will have a private service at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
