With love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, Martha R. Milam, whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone who knew her. Martha passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026 in Fort Smith. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend who always put her family first.
Born on January 1, 1953, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was the beloved daughter of Oscar Terry and Lois Durden Terry. Although born in Fort Smith, Greenwood was always home, where she built a life filled with family, lifelong friendships, and treasured memories.
She shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Tony Marshall Milam. Together they raised two sons, Christopher Chad Milam and Gregory Milton Milam, whom she loved beyond measure. She rarely missed a game, race, or milestone and was always their biggest supporter.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, Bridget Rachell Wells (Henley Wells) of Arizona, a midwife and nurse practitioner, Holly Jane Milam and Weston Lane of Fort Smith.
She loved spending time at the lake, fishing, cheering on the Greenwood Bulldogs, being a Razorbacks fan, and opening her heart to anyone in need. Family, friends, and even strangers could always count on her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Terry and Lois Durden Terry; her siblings, Betty Terry Whitlock, Oscar Earl Terry, Dorothy Terry and June Terry.
She is lovingly survived by her husband of 56 years, Tony Marshall Milam; her sons, Christopher Chad Milam (JaDawn Milam) and Gregory Milton Milam (Gayla Rachell Milam); her grandchildren, Bridget Rachell Wells (Henley Wells), Holly Jane Milam, and Weston Lane; her siblings, Billy Joe Terry, Beverly Terry Bryan, Jerry Terry, Ronnie Terry, and Darlene Terry Shubatt; her sister-in-law, Patty Milam; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She will be remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the family she cherished. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, July 24 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with a private family inurnment following at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., before the service on Friday.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Terry, Billy Joe Terry, Jerry Terry, Randy Terry, Lance Terry, Terry Whitlock, Stewart Bryan, Tim Terry, Trampis Terry, B.J. Childers, Branndon Terry, Weston Lane and Henley Wells.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church Meno’s Bible Class, P.O. Box 635, Greenwood, AR 72936 in her memory.
Together, we will gather to honor a life beautifully lived and a woman who will always be remembered with love.
