

Rev. Melvin L Clem, 92, of Bonanza, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born January 27, 1924 in Hartford, Arkansas to Minnie Evelyn and Jess Clem. He was a devout Christian his whole life. As a young man he traveled many places but spending most of his time in California working on a shipyard. In Ohio, he was the minister of the Assembly of God Church, landing back in Arkansas, he settled in Fort Smith. He was an Assembly of God minister and never left the church throughout his life. In the 70’s he stated his own business Fort Smith Glove with his wife, Doris Clem and kids by his side. The church and his business were his love for many years.
Graveside service will be 10 am Saturday, June 25 at Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield with the Rev. Gary Brown officiating under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. Viewing will be 1-8 pm Friday at the funeral home where the family will visit with friends from 5-7 pm.
He is survived by his two sons, Steve Clem of Arkansas and Dave Clem of Kansas; ten grandchildren, Brian, Julie Caryanne, Britney, David, Beau, Ty, Mercedes, Travis and Stephen; twenty great-grandchildren, Christopher, Cory, Aunna, Destinee, Jazmynne, Gaby, Garrett, Hailey, Sadie, Kenzie, Bodie, Aaron, Anthony, Alyssa, Aric, Allen, Jackie, Tory, Treniti, and Colton with whom he loved so much. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mae Clem; his mother, Minnie Evelyn Clem; his father, Jess Clem and his brothers and sisters.
