Michael Wayne Carpenter, 63 of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at a Fort Smith hospital. He was born October 8, 1962 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to John and Patricia (Wozencraft) Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Lucinda; one son, Jonathan Carpenter and wife, Jessica; one brother-in-law, Benny Dale Williams and wife. Lynnette; one sister in law, Bennetta Just and husband, Pete; three grandchildren, Alex Carpenter, Zack Carpenter and Isabel Carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Tony Carpenter and a sister, Tammy Carpenter.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
