Murl Edward Wooten, 76, of Hartford, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Fort Smith. He was born July 21, 1947 in Hartford, Arkansas to John and Thelma (Rotenberry) Wooten. He was retired from the construction industry and was a member and door greeter at Eastside Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
He is survived by one son, Kevin Wooten and wife, Holly of Howe, OK; one daughter, Dusty Meyeraan and husband, Brett of Mansfield; one brother, Wayne Wooten and wife, Brenda of Hartford; one sister, Norma Shook of Greenwood; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Elton D. Wooten, Harold Wooten, Darell Wooten and Warner Wooten and one sister, Dorothy Hester.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Hartford Memorial Park. Viewing will be Friday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Wooten, Scott Wooten, Nathan Wooten, Kevin Wooten, Gavyn Coffey and Haydn Liddell. Honorary pallbearers will be Malachi Fuller and Sadler Fuller.
