

Myrna Lou Hendricks Treshnell Johnson, 78 of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Fort Smith. She was born December 2, 1936 in Ulman, Missouri. She was the daughter of Alton and Enza Hendricks and the stepdaughter of Neva Hendricks. Myrna was a graduate of Eldon High School in Eldon, Missouri and St. Luke’s School of Nursing in St. Louis, where she earned a degree in Registered Nursing. She worked at hospitals in Missouri and California and was a school nurse at Eldon South Elementary. She was a member of the Olean Baptist Church in Olean, Missouri. Myrna loved nursing, cooking and gardening, but most of all she loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Treshnell and wife, Lea of Greenwood, Arkansas and David Treshnell and wife, Lisa of Marin County, CA; a sister, Margaret Adams of Kansas City, MO and three grandchildren, Nico, Kyle and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Morris Hendricks; a sister, Mary Hendricks Shepherd and Arthur M. Johnson, her husband of 30 years.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, February 27 at the Fort Smith Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Burnham Rand officiating. Burial will be at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith at a later date under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
