Myrtle Nina Angel, 89, of Booneville, died Friday, July 8, 2011 in Booneville. She was born October 15, 1921 in Pikeville, Tennessee to Charley and Hallie Cox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wendell Angel, one son, Frank Wendell Angel, one granddaughter, Tedra Smith, and nine brothers and sisters.
Myrtle worked at the Sanatorium in Booneville for twenty years, and retired from Oak Manor Nursing Center in 1986. She loved to read, work in her flower garden and feed her birds. Her life was never easy, and she fought so hard not to have to leave us, but each child and grandchild will have a special memory to hold until we can be with her again.
She is survived by five children; Randell Earl Angel, Jimmy Ray Angel, Kitty Lou Smith, and Carolyn Stewart, all of Booneville, and JoAnn Coggins of Searcy; sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11 at Carolan Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
