Nellie Dawn Newton, 84, of Hackett, Arkansas passed away Friday, Sept, 3, 2021 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a cook for the Hackett Public School system and member of the First Baptist Church in Hackett.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 10 at the First Baptist Church in Hackett with inurnment at Mountain View Cemetery in Hackett at a later date. Family will visit with friends following the service.
She is survived by twin sons, Terry Newton and wife, Glenda of Poteau, Oklahoma and Jerry Newton and wife, Jaquetta of Hackett; daughter Diana Williams of Pocola, Oklahoma; brother, Gary Cain of Fort Smith; two sisters, Sherry Cain of Hackett and Gail Cain of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda, Kelsey and Kelley and four great-grandsons, Jeremy, Sawyer, Jace and Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Darrell Newton, three brothers, Jamie, Donnie and John (J.B.) and a granddaughter, Crystal.
Flowers may be sent to Nellie’s house Thursday at 400 Hwy 10 NE in Hackett or to the church on Friday morning.
