He is proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jerald Deane and Mary Jane Cozort of Swifton, Arkansas, his maternal grandparents, Monroe and Doris D. Stallings of Greenwood, Arkansas and step grandparents, Bob and Pauline Quall.
Nicholas was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and was a Greenwood Bulldog graduate of the Class of 2004. He enjoyed being in ROTC. Nick married the love of his life, LaTosha Ann on March 27, 2015 after courting her for eight wonderful years prior. He settled down and began his life as a devoted husband and father in Greenwood. Nick was an asset to his employer, Gerber Products & Company, where he worked the last eight years as their top machine operator, but he was to step up and help in many other various duties when needed. Nicholas loved more than anything, being with his family, all of them, but particularly his wife and three children. He was happiest when he was out on the trails, 4-wheeling, fishing, hunting, camping, working in his shop (on his old Jeep), or his all-time favorite was maintaining the perfect lawn. He loved his new zero-turn lawn mower, as he was always happy to mow anyone's lawn and be of help. He enjoyed anytime he got to be out on that mower. He also cherished every single moment with his friends and family. He had a heart of gold, he never passed a stranger in need of help, that he didn't stop and lend a helping hand.
Nick was so patriotic and loved his country. His all-time favorite time of the year was the annual July 4th party his brother, Keith held at their home in Hackett. If you knew Nick, you knew he was not going to miss that Independence Day gathering. The family jokes as his youngest son was actually due on the day of the party one particular year, but Nick made sure they made that party anyway. He looked forward to it and the fellowship with family all year long. Nick always had a smile on his face and joy in his heart. He was always making others laugh, he was such a jokester.
He was the most hands-on father to his children. When the children were each asked what their favorite memory of time spent with daddy was, they had the following to say. Derek loved all the times they got to go four-wheeling together, Ashley enjoyed it most when she got one on one with daddy helping him on his jeep, out in the shop, and Toby said the best times were next to his daddy rock crawling. He was such a doting Father, always making memories to last a lifetime.
Nick was a member of The New Life Church (NLC) of Fort Smith, where he gave his life to Christ, was baptized, and was born again.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, LaTosha Ann Berry-Cozort of Greenwood; two sons, Derek and Toby Cozort; one daughter, Ashley Cozort all of the home; his father and step-mother; Garold and Pam Cozort of Fort Smith; his mother, Deborah Burris of Fort Smith; his father-in-law, Delbert Berry and wife, Carrie of Van Buren; his mother-in-law, Sherri Stone and husband, Don of Greenwood; three brothers, Keith Costa and wife, Jennifer of Hackett, Scott Frame of Fort Smith and Christopher Cozort and wife, Marlaine of Fort Smith; one sister, Sara McCuen and husband, Jason of Greenwood; two brothers-in-law, Damon and wife, Katie of Oklahoma City and William Stone of Roland; two sisters-in-aw, Braylee Calvert and husband, Tyler of Fort Smith and Kenley Berry and fiancée, Joe Hamby of Van Buren, as well as many aunt, uncles and cousins that he loved and adored and nephews and nieces.
