Patsy Ruth Geren, age 86, of Greenwood, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 11, 2026. Pat was born on July 12, 1939, in the city of Rosboro, Pike County, Arkansas, to Moody Turner and Mary Auldean Anderson Turner, and at an early age the family moved to Kirby.
Pat graduated from Kirby High School in 1957. She mostly was a homemaker, however, due to her prolific talents in intricate sewing and cake decorating, she was sought after by many mothers and their daughters requesting her skills to create stunning wedding dresses, bridesmaids’ dresses, and some of the most elegant wedding cakes ever seen.
Pat was also a mentor to hundreds of people seeking advice and understanding the word of God. She was a Sunday school teacher, counselor, conference speaker, and author.
Pat is survived by siblings, Jerry Turner (Bonnie Turner), Mike Turner (Sarah Turner), David Turner, and Steve Turner (Becky Turner); children, Terry Geren (Rosie Geren), Jeff Geren (Tracey Geren), Greg Geren (Cathy Geren), Tim Parker (Jo Parker), and Kevin Parker (Gena Parker); grandchildren, Nathan Wakefield (Lacie Wakefield), Chris Parker (Katherine Martin), Jeremy Geren, Jessica Smith (Matt Smith); Seth Parker (Ashley Parker), Dalton Parker, Matt Geren (Alaina Geren), Maggie Hurt (Rodger Hurt), J.T. Geren (Heidi Geren), Megan Geren, Cody Arnold (Kelsey Arnold), and 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by Moody Turner, Auldean Turner, Ronald Turner, and John Geren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, May 14 at First Baptist Church, 19 N. Adair St. in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Parker, Chris Parker, Seth Parker, J.T. Geren, Matt Geren and Jeremy Geren.
